Mixed beds + pea gravel dining area

Here's a look at incremental progress on the back half of our yard. It's a small footprint with a lot going on. We have various planting beds, berms, paths and a pea gravel area where the dining table sits under a big peach tree.

Back when I was first dreaming about the design for this area I imagined a more formal, topiary garden layout. As other areas of the yard evolved, so too did my expectations, along with the functional use case for the area.

One aspect that evolved differently than I orginally planned is that I intended to have the peach tree removed, but it has ended up serving as a strong element in the current design. The peach tree was struggling with peach leaf curl and looked quite bad. We sprayed it with an organic fungicide and pruned it very aggresively. After 2 full seasions it has recovered well and shows little sign of leaf curl this season.
